Boreal Access is proud to offer wireless services in downtown Grand Marais. If you're already a Boreal member and want to add WiFi access to your account, please contact the Boreal office.
If you're just visiting and want to use the WiFi network for
the day, weekend, week, etc., you can set up an account online by using
one of the following links. These links will only work if you're currently connected
to the Boreal Wifi system - they won't work from outside of the area. You don't need a
Wifi account to access this page: If you prefer, you can also set up an account by calling the Boreal office at 218-387-9471, between 8:00am and 8:00pm, or you can stop by our office in the lower level of the Sawtooth Mountain Clinic (at the intersection of Gunflint Trail and County Rd 7) during our office hours of 9:00am - 4:00pm Monday through Friday. Below is our price list for a temporary WiFi account:
You may have one computer logged in at a time with your wifi service. If you need to have more than one computer using the service at the same time, you will either need to network the two computers so they can share a single Internet connection, or you will need to create a separate account for the second computer. This system was installed on June 24, 2004. The coverage area includes the Grand Marais harbor area and, as of summer 2005, extends over much of residential Grand Marais. There are also hotspots available at the Grand Marais Public Library, the Java Moose, the Blue Water Cafe, the Grand Marais Senior Center, Fireweed Commons, the 1910 Rock Shop and the Cook County Community Center in Grand Marais, and outside the Clearview General Store in Lutsen.
